The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup heads to beautiful Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah this weekend for Round 4 of the championship. Known as one of the top racing venues in North America, this will be the second consecutive year that the TDI cup visits Miller, and I will be looking to build on the 2nd place finish that I had last season.

Once again we will be raising money for Right To Play this weekend. So far this year, I have accumulated 56 laps towards the program, which means $1600 has already been raised towards the final donation. I’ll be looking to finish every lap and hopefully add some bonus laps to the total with a win or a podium. For more information on becoming part of Racing for the Right To Play or to enter your pledge online please visit www.jakethompson.ca/righttoplay/.

This round of the Jetta TDI Cup looks to be a good one as the series will be joined by 4 guest drivers including AMA World Superbike racer Roger Hayden, extreme skier Grete Eliassen, speedskater Anthony Labello and journalist Thomas Lyman. I have been hard at work getting ready for this event, and you can view onboard footage of a recent training session at the kart track by clicking here.  As always look for almost live updates during the weekend on my twitter feed at twitter.com/jakethompson19 and nightly updates on the news page. You can follow the results in real time by visiting the live timing page during qualifying or the race at http://livetiming.net/scca/VW. I’ve also posted some photos from the New Jersey weekend over on the photos page so make sure to check those out too.
