4th Place Finish today at Autobahn

Sorry about the lack of updates, it was a busy weekend here in Chicago. I was able to salvage a great 4th place finish from what has been a bit of a trying weekend. I spun in Qualifying, popping two tires, and as a result had only a few minutes at the end of the session to try to set a fast time. I wound up only 12 hundredths of a second away from being on the front row, but in a especially tight grid this left me back in 7th. Had I been able to run the whole session I know I could have put it up front.
In the race, I got pushed out during some first lap chaos, and fell back to 8th, but pretty soon I realized I had quite a fast car. I began moving my way to the front, and although my charge was halted by a long full course caution mid race, I was still able to reach 4th place. Its a bit agonizing being that close to the podium, especially knowing that I was fast enough to win this weekend. Racing can be a lot of what ifs, and this weekend I was left wondering, what if I didn’t spin in qualifying, what if there was no full course caution. But oh well.
The good news is I am now closer than ever to the championship lead, within 20pts, and it looks like it will be a dogfight between 4 drivers heading into the second half of the season.
By finishing all 10 laps I manged to raise close to $600 for Right to Play, pushing our season total past $6500! I will try to post a longer update when Im home later this week.
Thanks for your support!
