Crazy first day at Road America
Posted to News by jakethompson on Aug.20, 2010
Quick update after a crazy day here in Wisconsin. The morning started with practice on a wet track with dry tires in fog so thick you could only see about 100ft. Up next was Qualifying for tomorrow’s race where I had an ok run to 5th (a little disappointed not to be better), which means I have a great grid spot tomorrow, and can hopefully grab a podium. The day ended with qualifying 2, and although we headed out on dry tires to light drizzle, pretty soon a monsoon hit us head on. I was unlucky being one of the last cars to head on track, so i only got 1 hot lap before the heavy rain hit, while several people got 2. As a result I only ended up 10th, but I think there is still a good chance that I can have a good race Sunday.
