Highlights

2009: Was selected from a pool of over 1000 applicants to be one of 30 drivers in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup. Despite having no previous experience in a racecar, Jake scored a victory during the first event of the season. Over the course of the year he qualified in the top 3 seven out of nine times, and took home a total of two victories and three podiums. He finished the year 5th in the overall standings and 2nd in the rookie championship.

2008: In his return to racing, Jake competed in the 6 round Western Canadian Karting Championships, scoring 4 podium finishes, and challenging for the championship until a crash during the penultimate round.

2005: In his 3rd season competing at the highest level of North American Karting, Jake continued to compete upfront while juggling the demands of being a full-time University student

2004: Jake was part of the Italian Motors Factory team competing in theĀ  the Stars of Karting Series, the pinnacle of North American Karting. During the season Jake had several strong runs highlighted by a victory in the premier ICC class at the Canadian National Karting Championships. He also finished on the podium at the Chilliwack round of the Stars series.

2003: For the first time, Jake moved up to compete in the Pro ICC class, which represented the highest level of competition in North America. His season was highlighted by 1 podium finish, several top 10′s, and qualifying 2nd out of a field of 56 at the Sonoma Round before a broken throttle cable cost him a chance at victory. He was also ranked in the top 20 Shifter Kart pilots in North America by Shifter Kart Illustrated.

2002: Competing in the Semi-Pro class on the national SuperkartsUSA tour, Jake scored multiple podium finishes, and finished the season 8th in North America. On home soil, Jake took home the runner-up position at the Canadian National Karting Championships.

Early Years: Jake began karting in 1999 and quickly took several victories on both the local and regional level. By the time he was eligible to compete in Senior age classes, he was already competing across North America.

Off Track: From 2003-2007 Jake was a full time student at the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Away from the racetrack, he is laid back and likes to just relax and spend time with his friends. A huge hockey fan, he’s a supporter of his hometown Calgary Flames, and also tries to take advantage of the nearby Rocky Mountains and go skiing as much as possible.
